Our learning environment is inspired by the Montessori approach

Where we honour each child as a unique individual with their own interests, strengths, and the ability to confidently direct their own learning. We believe that children should have the freedom to explore a thoughtfully prepared environment that is both beautiful and purposeful, ensuring it is equitable and inclusive for all. Our goal is to empower children to become active decision-makers in matters that affect them and to inspire joy through meaningful learning experiences.

Our Philosophy

At Maddingley Montessori, we focus on building meaningful connections and fostering trusting relationships with everyone involved in our service—children, families, community members, and stakeholders. We honour the traditional custodians of the Wadawurrung Land and recognize Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, both past, present, and emerging.

Inspired by the Montessori Method, we believe that children learn through play and cultural diversity. We respect each child as a unique individual, capable of confidently leading their own learning. Every child has their own ideas, thoughts, knowledge, interests, and skills, and we embrace this uniqueness in our approach to education.

We are committed to creating a warm, welcoming environment where all children and families feel a strong sense of belonging and community. We prioritize the individual needs of children and educators, tailoring our program to incorporate both play-based learning and Montessori principles.

At Maddingley Montessori, we empower children to be themselves, advocating for compassion, empathy, and kindness within our community, while celebrating the rich diversity that makes us stronger.

Our team is dedicated to continuous improvement, guided by reflective practice and collaboration with families. We are committed to upholding the Principles of the National Quality Framework, Child Safe Standards, Early Childhood Australia’s Code of Ethics, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
